That Talk Back is an international conference created to inspire and promote an ecosystem that intentionally includes the voices of mothers on the edge of innovation and their sanity in the policies, decision making and practices of organizations, institutions and companies.
We cater to two primary audiences: the mothers themselves and the ecosystem that makes an impact on their lives.
Every year, we come together to accomplish three goals…
create a platform for mothers in the workplace who are often silenced and erased; spoken for, spoken at, spoken to but rarely invited to speak
put “infamous mothers” in conversation with key stakeholders, organizations and institutions in the community around current/relevant women’s issues to give train them on how to “make room”
create a space for mothers on the edge to be inspired, grow, connect and experience self-care

I am a thought leader—best known for my raw, inspirational, and a little-bit funny messages.
I earned a PhD from the world-class University of Wisconsin-Madison, authored a book, and I am the CEO of a successful startup.
I’ve done all of this as a single mother of six children. I’m pretty badass.
But more important than being a badass is what I do with my badassery…
I break down barriers for women/mothers and people of color…I inspire hope, unharness power, mobilize leadership teams, and push boundaries.
In addition to my work around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), my talks, seminars and workshops have focused on topics/titles that include (but aren’t limited to):
accomplishing the impossible
picking up oneself from “the floor”
“Your Hands Are in My Panties”
