Family Lore: Where the Tea Gets Spilled + the Culture Gets Set

Family Lore: Where the Tea Gets Spilled + the Culture Gets Set

A Without Apology Tour Stop | Rooted at Badger Rock

Every family’s got that story — the one that gets told at every cookout, every holiday, every time y’all gather around food. Some of those stories hold us together. Some haunt us. And some? Well, they just need to be rewritten.

At Family Lore, we’re diving into the tales we inherit, the ones we pass down, and the ones we tell about ourselves. Expect a little truth-telling, a little laughter, and a whole lot of wisdom. We’ll eat, we’ll journal, and we’ll play with the question: Are you the hero, the victim, or the villain in your family’s story?

What to expect:

  • Readings from A Pot to Piss In (Prologue + Doctor) + Infamous Mothers coffee table book

  • Quick journaling assignments + fun mini-workshop (“Family Lore Headlines”)

  • Real talk circle: how stories bind or break us

  • A shared meal — because family stories always taste better with food

Who’s this for?
Black women, women of color, mothers, daughters, and anyone ready to laugh, reflect, and reclaim the stories that shape family culture.

RSVP required | Limited seating.
